[Podocyte dysfunction and proteinuria].

open access: yesNederlands tijdschrift voor geneeskunde, 2004
Podocytes play a central role in the pathogenesis of several glomerular diseases. In recent years, this has been revealed by molecular analysis of a number of rare hereditary renal diseases. Podocytes contain three domains: the domain bound to the glomerular basement membrane (GBM), the domain of the slit diaphragms and the apical domain.

Effect of Long‐Term Voclosporin Treatment on Renal Histology in Patients With Active Lupus Nephritis With Repeat Renal Biopsies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 77, Issue 10, Page 1387-1393, October 2025.
Objective This study characterized the impact of voclosporin on kidney histology in patients with lupus nephritis (LN) who had protocolized repeat kidney biopsies in the AURORA clinical trials. Methods Patients were randomized to voclosporin or placebo treatment for up to 3 years; all patients received mycophenolate mofetil and low‐dose glucocorticoids.

Fabry Disease Associated With Myelodysplastic Syndrome: Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT This is the first reported case of Fabry disease (FD) coexisting with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). While the coexistence of FD and MDS may be incidental, the case underscores the importance of considering FD in patients with unexplained systemic and hematological abnormalities, particularly those with a family history.
