Study on the relationship between the changes in polyamine content and seedless grapes embryo rescue breeding

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
This study was envisaged to investigate the physiological reasons affecting the embryo development and abortion of seedless grapes on the basis of the previous embryo rescue breeding techniques of seedless grapes.

Exploring polyamines: Functions in embryo/fetal development

open access: yesAnimal Nutrition, 2017
Polyamines such as putrescine, spermidine, spermine and agmatine are aliphatic polycationic compounds present in all living cells, and are derived from amino acids, intestinal bacteria, exfoliated enterocytes and supported from diet.

Putrescine alleviates cold injury in peach fruit via elevating the conjugated polyamines in tonoplast and thereby maintaining vacuole conformation

open access: yesHorticultural Science
Exogenous polyamines can elevate postharvest fruit cold resistance and alleviate cold injury. However, the mechanism, by which polyamines mediate cold tolerance, is still to be explored.

MTAP Deficiency as a Metabolic Vulnerability in Cancer: Implications for Synthetic Lethal Therapy

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
MTAP deletion creates a therapeutically actionable metabolic vulnerability through MTA accumulation and PRMT5 dependency. This review summarizes the biochemical basis of MTAP‐directed synthetic lethality, emerging PRMT5/MAT2A inhibitors, clinicogenomic features of MTAP‐deleted tumors, and future strategies for precision oncology.

The influence of chemical polyamines analogs, decarboxylated ornithine and s-(adenosyl)-methionine on the polyamine synthsis velocity in test-systems from tissues with high proliferation

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Medicine, 2010
The aliphatic (amino)- and (oxy)-derivatives of polyamines effect on the rate of polyamines (Putrescine, Spermidine and Spermine) synthesis in cell-free test-systems from rat's regenerating liver and Hepatoma tissues was examined.

Increased polyamines alter chromatin and stabilize autoantigens in autoimmune diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2013
Polyamines are small cations with unique combinations of charge and length that give them many putative interactions in cells. Polyamines are essential since they are involved in replication, transcription, translation, and stabilization of macro ...

Inositol and Berberine Synergistically Reprogram Endocrine and Ovarian Metabolism in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
In a DHEA+HFD‐induced mouse model, Ins/BBR alleviated mitochondrial defects and broadly reprogrammed metabolic landscape in granulosa cells, in specific, restoring nucleotide pools and amino acid turnover, and preventing abnormal long‐chain fatty acid accumulation.

Interactions Between Spermine-Derivatized Tentacle Porphyrins And The Human Telomeric DNA G-Quadruplex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
G-rich DNA sequences have the potential to fold into non-canonical G-Quadruplex (GQ) structures implicated in aging and human diseases, notably cancers.

Inhibition of Ornithine Decarboxylase 1 Mitigates Denervation‐Induced Muscle Atrophy by Suppressing Proteolysis and Preserving Muscle Stem Cell Homeostasis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Polyamine metabolism is innervation responsive and involved in denervation‐induced muscle atrophy. Inhibition of polyamine metabolism attenuates muscle atrophy by restraining proteolysis and preserving MuSCs homeostasis. Denervation‐induced activation of FAP‐derived FGF7 drives premature MuSCs activation, while DFMO suppresses this paracrine cue to ...
