In this nationwide cohort of 15 017 patients undergoing first‐time catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, chronic—but not transient—anemia was independently associated with an increased risk of AF recurrence. Persistent anemia may represent a clinically relevant marker of adverse rhythm outcomes following ablation.
