Antimicrobial effect of intracanal substances

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2007
In some situations, endodontic infections do not respond to therapeutic protocol. In these cases, it is suggested the administration of an alternative intracanal medication that presents a wide spectrum of action and has an in-depth effect on the root ...

Anaphylactic Shock Caused by Ingestion of Polyethylene Glycol [PDF]

open access: yesIntestinal Research, 2015
Colonoscopy is the current standard method for evaluation of the colon. The diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic safety of colonoscopy depend on the quality of colonic cleansing and preparation.

EFFECT OF SOLID DISPERSIONS ON THE SOLUBILITY OF METRONIDAZOLE

open access: yesФармация и фармакология (Пятигорск), 2021
The aim of the work is to study the effect of solid dispersions using polyethylene glycols of various molecular weights on the solubility of metronidazole in water. Metronidazole is an antimicrobial and antiprotozoal drug.

Organic compounds in hydraulic fracturing fluids and wastewaters: A review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
High volume hydraulic fracturing (HVHF) of shale to stimulate the release of natural gas produces a large quantity of wastewater in the form of flowback fluids and produced water.

Influence of ultrafiltration membrane characteristics on adsorptive fouling with dextrans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents a detailed investigation of fouling mechanisms for ultrafiltration membranes with polysaccharides obtained by studying membrane–solute (static adsorption) and membrane–solute–solute interactions (ultrafiltration (UF)).

Bacterial oxidation of polyethylene glycol [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1978
The metabolism of polyethylene glycol (PEG) was investigated with a synergistic, mixed culture of Flavobacterium and Pseudomonas species, which are individually unable to utilize PEGs. The PEG dehydrogenase linked with 2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol was found in the particulate fraction of sonic extracts and catalyzed the formation of a 2,4 ...

Calibration of ultrafiltration membranes against size exclusion chromatography columns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Using the extension of the concept of universal calibration parameter, yielding a relation between the hydrodynamic volume of molecules and the elution volume in sizeexclusionchromatography (SEC), to retention coefficients in ultrafiltration (UF), we ...

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Phosphorus Contamination in Polyethylene Glycol [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1978
Concentrations of Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Ca, Mg, K, and P were examined in untreated and ion exchange resin-treated solutions of polyethylene glycol, molecular weight 3000 to 3700, polyethylene glycol (PEG 4000). Relatively high levels of P were found in untreated PEF-4000 solutions.

GDP‐fucose transporter SLC35C1: a potential regulatory role in cytosolic GDP‐fucose and fucosylated glycan synthesis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.
