New Insight into the Effect of Different Interactions of Polymers with Various Molecular Structures on the Surface Covering and Rheology of Cement Particle Suspension [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر
Hypothesis: Water-soluble polymers with different structures are used as additives in cements. The types of functionalities are hydroxy, amine, sulfonate, and carboxylate ions. Polyethylene glycol branches in different sizes and numbers are placed inside

Evaluation of continuous and discrete melting endotherms in determination of structural heterogeneities in Ziegler-Natta catalyzed linear low density polyethylene [PDF]

open access: yesPolyolefins Journal, 2016
Ethylene / 1-butene copolymers at different comonomer levels were synthesized using Ziegler-Natta catalyst to evaluate the applicability of thermal fractionation methods in predicting chemical composition distribution (CCD).

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Adsorption behaviour of molecularly imprinted-beta-cyclodextrin polymers prepared by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization for selective recognition of benzylparaben [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are kinds of powerful materials with promising selective molecule recognition abilities. However, the conventional MIPs have relatively low binding capacity.

Study of Ziegler-Natta/(2-PhInd)2ZrCl2 hybrid catalysts performance in slurry propylene polymerization [PDF]

open access: yesPolyolefins Journal, 2015
Several types of hybrid catalysts are made through mixing of 4th generation Ziegler-Natta (ZN) and (2-PhInd)2ZrCl2  metallocene catalysts using triethylaluminum (TEA) as coupling agent.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

High-order WENO scheme for Polymerization-type equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Polymerization of proteins is a biochimical process involved in different diseases. Mathematically, it is generally modeled by aggregation-fragmentation-type equations.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.
