Search for Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism of Phaseolus Vulgaris in Relation to the Immune Gene to Bean Common Mosaic Virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
A technique involving Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) was used to observe the DNA fragment polymorphism between a bean cultivar with I/I genotype and a bean cultivar with i/i genotype.

A Preliminary Association Study of H19 Non‐Coding Gene Variants With Risk of Non‐Hodgkin Lymphoma: A Case–Control Study and Computational Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is a kind of frequently occurring malignant tumor of the lymphoid hematopoietic system in the world. NHL comprises a large group of diverse lymphoid malignancies involving either the lymph nodes or extra nodal sites. It is more prevalent in males living in more developed countries over the age of 60 years.

Raman Study of the Slobodka Ordinary Chondrite

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
The texture and mineral chemistry of Slobodka are most consistent with L4 chondrites, exhibiting strong shock metamorphism characteristic of shock stage S4, including irregular and planar fractures, undulatory extinction, and mosaicism in olivine, pyroxene, and plagioclase.

Rapid CRISPR‐Cas13a genetic identification enables new opportunities for listed Chinook salmon management

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Accurate taxonomic identification is foundational for effective species monitoring and management. When visual identifications are infeasible or inaccurate, genetic approaches provide a reliable alternative. However, these approaches are sometimes less viable (e.g., need for near real‐time results, remote locations, funding concerns, molecular

Chemical composition of wild populations of Thymus vulgaris and Satureja montana in central Catalonia, Spain

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study is devoted to determining the chemical composition of essential oils obtained from 13 wild populations of thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) and 14 populations of winter savory (Satureja montana L.) from the Solsonès region of Catalonia, Spain. The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation using a Clevenger apparatus, and

The promise and challenges of characterizing genome‐wide structural variants: A case study in a critically endangered parrot

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract There is growing interest in the role of structural variants (SVs) as drivers of local adaptation and speciation. From a biodiversity genomics perspective, the characterization of genome‐wide SVs provides an exciting opportunity to complement single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). However, little is known about the impacts of SV discovery and

Age is not a primary risk factor for ACL injury—A comprehensive review of ACL injury and reinjury risk factors confounded by young patient age

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Revision surgery after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL‐R) is hypothesized to be the result of an interplay between factors associated with the anatomy, physiological characteristics and environment of the patient. The multifactorial nature of revision ACL‐R risk is difficult to quantify, and evidence regarding the independent ...

The practice and promise of temporal genomics for measuring evolutionary responses to global change

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Understanding the evolutionary consequences of anthropogenic change is imperative for estimating long‐term species resilience. While contemporary genomic data can provide us with important insights into recent demographic histories, investigating past change using present genomic data alone has limitations.

Low‐Frequency Raman Spectroscopy of Polymers

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, EarlyView.
Recent advances have made low‐frequency Raman spectroscopy accessible to the wider scientific community. This review discusses how low‐frequency Raman is particularly useful for researchers investigating polymers because the technique can help determine both the local and long‐range structure of materials, their thermodynamic properties, and their ...
