HISTOCHEMICAL DEMONSTRATION OF ACID TRIMETAPHOSPHATASE AND TETRAMETAPHOSPHATASE

open access: yes, 1960
Trimetaphosphatase is an acid inorganic polyphosphatase whose distribution and properties differ from those of acid and alkaline organic phosphatases. It is the enzyme responsible for previously reported "acid" polyphosphatase" staining.

STUDIES ON THE HISTOCHEMICAL DIFFERENTIATION OF ENZYMES HYDROLYZING ADENOSINE TRIPHOSPHATE

open access: yes, 1960
At least 3 enzymes or groups of enzymes present in dog kidney and jejunum are capable of splitting adenosine triphosphate at pH 9.4. In addition to nonspecific alkaline phosphatase and what appears to be a true adenosine triphosphatase, an enzyme ...

Visible Light Activates Coumarin‐Caged mRNA for Cytoplasmic Cap Methylation in Cells

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 30, Issue 2, January 8, 2024.
A 5′ cap with coumarin at the N7G was prepared in two different ways. It can be used to make mRNAs and to activate the process of cytoplasmic cap methylation in cells by visible light. Abstract Protein synthesis is important and regulated by various mechanisms in the cell.

Rodent Epidermal Langerhans Cells Demonstrate Greater Histochemical Specificity for ADP Than for ATP and AMP [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Langerhans cells (LCs) in mammalian epidermis possess the ectoenzyme Ca++/Mg++-dependent adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase), which has served as a useful histochemical marker for these dendritic cells in a variety of tissue preparations.

Application of enzymatic activity measurements to biological phosphate removal from wastewater

open access: yes, 1997
Activity measurements of enzymes have been used in the research. Properties of microorganism populations of activated sludge have been estimated by this method.

The archaeal triphosphate tunnel metalloenzyme SaTTM defines structural determinants for the diverse activities in the CYTH protein family

open access: yes, 2021
CYTH proteins make up a large superfamily that is conserved in all three domains of life. These enzymes have a triphosphate tunnel metalloenzyme (TTM) fold, which typically results in phosphatase functions, e.g., RNA triphosphatase, inorganic ...

The effect of α, α’-bipyridyl, a ROS inhibitor, on polyphosphatase activity of rh-TRAP.

open access: yes, 2013
The [32P]-poly(P)40 (0.346 mM) was incubated with recombinant human TRAP (7.3 mU/mL) in 100 mM Na-acetate buffer (pH 5.5) containing 40 mM sodium tartrate in the presence or absence of α, α’-bipyridyl (5 mM) for the indicated time periods at 37°C.

Concerted expression of a cell cycle regulator and a metabolic enzyme from a bicistronic transcript in plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
International audienceEukaryotic mRNAs frequently contain upstream open reading frames (uORFs), encoding small peptides that may control translation of the main ORF (mORF).

Agrobacterium-mediated Soybean Transformation

open access: yes, 2015
Soybean is a major crop in The United States. Frost and drought conditions pose serious hazards to the yield and quality of all crops. It is desirable to increase tolerance to drought and cold.

Optimization of a high throughput screening platform to identify inhibitors of asymmetric diadenosine polyphosphatases

open access: yesAnalytical Biochemistry
When stressed, cells synthesize di-adenosine polyphosphates (ApnA), and cellular organisms also express proteins that degrade these compounds to release ATP. Most of these proteins are members of the nudix hydrolase superfamily, and several are involved in bacterial pathogenesis, neurodevelopment, and cancer.
