The adsorption of Ciprofloxacin (CPX) from aqueous solution by Pomegranate peels (POP) was investigated in a batch process. The influence of time (5-60 min) and CPX concentration (100-10,000 mg/L) on the adsorption ability of POP was studied. The quantitative determination of total phenols, ellagic tannins and gallic and ellagic acids in the peel of the Tunisian pomegranate variety Chelfi, has been carried out. The ellagic tannin content is prominently less than the amount of total phenols, which led us to look for the presence of the condensed tannins.
