Hip Arthroscopy for Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome Improves Patient‐Reported Outcome Scores Regardless of Smoking Status

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To compare outcomes of hip arthroscopy using Patient‐Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) scores in patients with a history of smoking versus nonsmokers. Methods Patients who underwent hip arthroscopy at our institution between January 2015 and June 2024 and had PROMIS data including physical function (PF), pain ...

Propagation impairments due to Raman effect on the coexistence of GPON, XG-PON, RF-video and TWDM-PON [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We analyze propagation effects in the coexistence of GPON, XG-PON, RF-Video and TWDM-PON. We show that high power TWDM-PON channels excite Stimulated Raman Scattering inducing extra-loss on GPON due to power depletion.

Production of 3D printed biomodels of the canine brain for veterinary neuroanatomy teaching

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Teaching neuroanatomy presents multiple challenges to both students and teachers, as it is a subject with highly dense content that commonly causes the development of aversion by students, a phenomenon referred to as “neurophobia,” which has been documented in human and veterinary medicine students.

NeuroTwister: Gamified learning to teach cross‐sectional neuroanatomy to medical students

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 19, Issue 6, Page 950-959, June 2026.
Abstract Neuroscience is a required course in many health professions curricula, but with it often comes neurophobia, the fear or difficulty that students experience when attempting to learn neuroscience. Traditional teaching methods in neuroanatomy may contribute to cognitive overload and stress, reinforcing the notion that neuroanatomy is ...
