Versatile CRISPR‐Cas Tools for Gene Regulation in Zebrafish via an Enhanced Q Binary System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces CRISPR‐Q, a transgenic CRISPR‐Cas system leveraging the QFvpr/QUAS binary expression platform in zebrafish. CRISPR‐Q overcomes previous challenges in achieving stable and efficient gene regulation. By enabling precise spatiotemporal control of transcript knockdown (CRISPR‐QKD) and gene activation (CRISPR‐Qa), it provides a ...

Extracellular Vesicles of Streptococcus anginosus Mediate Gastritis via Epithelial Barrier Disruption and Macrophage‐driven Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Streptococcus anginosus extracellular vesicles (SA‐EVs) accumulate in gastric tissue, disrupt epithelial tight junctions, and induce gastritis characterized by neutrophil infiltration and elevated cytokines (TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17A). Proteomics identifies TMPC and FBP62 as key SA‐EVs virulence factors; their genetic deletion attenuates inflammation ...

Experimental Studies on CHF Characteristics of Nanofluids at Pool Boiling [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2017
The use of nanofluids to increase the safety margin of high heat flux thermal systems in nuclear power plants through the enhancement of the critical heat flux (CHF) has been considered recently by researchers.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF POOL BOILING OF NANO-FLUIDS

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2020
Pool boiling of Nano Al2O3, TiO2, and ZrO2 of concentrations 0.1, 0.4, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 g/L in distilled water (which is taken as a base fluid) were experimentally studied in a test boiling chamber of stainless steel cylindrical vessel of 15 cm ...

Unraveling the Morphological and Functional Maturation Mechanisms Underlying Human Neural Development Using iPSCs‐Derived Neuronal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)‐derived neuronal model, Tian and colleagues reveal that voltage‐gated calcium channels Cav1.2 and Cav1.3, and their mediated calcium ion influx, are essential for early morphogenesis of human neuronal development, while ECEL1 underlies human neuronal functional developmental maturation through CALM3 ...

Reversed boiling curve phenomenon on surfaces with interlaced wettability

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2014
We experimentally investigated the effects of contact angle difference of heterogeneous wettability surfaces on pool boiling. For surfaces exhibiting heterogeneous wettability, this study determined that the pool boiling curve experiences a superheat ...

Electrohydrodynamic effects on characteristic of isolated bubbles in the nucleate pool boiling regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Application of electric fields demonstrates great promise as an active heat transfer enhancement technique. Here, we study experimentally some characteristics of isolated bubbles such as bubble departure diameter, nucleation rate (frequency), and density

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.
