The Supreme Court As National School Board [PDF]

open access: yes, 1949
A modern industrial robot control system is often only based upon measurements from the motors of the manipulator. To perform good tra-ectory tracking on the arm side of the robot a very accurate description of the system must therefore be used.

Control Sets and Total Positivity

open access: yesSemigroup Forum, 2004
The goal of this paper is to connect two different mathematical subjects, namely totally positive matrices and control sets. The set \(T\) of totally positive matrices in \(Sl(d,\mathbb{R})\) (subgroup of determinant one matrices of size \(d \times d\)) is also a semigroup with non-empty interior in \(Sl(d,\mathbb{R})\).

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Load Prediction Control Study of a Pitch Control System for Large Offshore Wind Turbines

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In recent years, the global demand for renewable energy has been steadily increasing, and offshore wind power generation technology has thus developed rapidly, with the optimization of the performance of the pitch control system, as a key technology to ...

Terminal shock position and restart control of a Mach 2.7, two-dimensional, twin duct mixed compression inlet [PDF]

open access: yes
Experimental results of terminal shock and restart control system tests of a two-dimensional, twin-duct mixed compression inlet are presented. High-response (110-Hz bandwidth) overboard bypass doors were used, both as the variable to control shock ...

Electrical servo actuator bracket [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
An electrical servo actuator is mounted on a support arm which is allowed to pivot on a bolt through a fixed mounting bracket. The actuator is pivotally connected to the end of the support arm by a bolt which has an extension allowed to pass through a ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Precise computer controlled positioning of robot end effectors using force sensors [PDF]

open access: yes
A thorough study of combined position/force control using sensory feedback for a one-dimensional manipulator model, which may count for the spacecraft docking problem or be extended to the multi-joint robot manipulator problem, was performed.

The control of the arm’s equilibrium position

open access: yesJournal of Neurophysiology
According to numerous theories, the brain controls posture and movement by activating muscles that attract the limb toward a so-called equilibrium position, but the universality of this mechanism has not been shown for different motor behaviors. Here, we show that even when pushing or pulling against the environment, the brain achieves the desired ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
