Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Numerical Methods for the Fractional Laplacian: a Finite Difference-quadrature Approach

open access: yes, 2014
The fractional Laplacian $(-\Delta)^{\alpha/2}$ is a non-local operator which depends on the parameter $\alpha$ and recovers the usual Laplacian as $\alpha \to 2$.

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Positive Solutions for Systems of Nonlinear Higher Order Differential Equations with Integral Boundary Conditions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
By constructing some general type conditions and using fixed point theorem of cone, this paper investigates the existence of at least one and at least two positive solutions for systems of nonlinear higher order differential equations with integral ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Existence of Solutions to the Bethe Ansatz Equations for the 1D Hubbard Model: Finite Lattice and Thermodynamic Limit

open access: yes, 2004
In this work, we present a proof of the existence of real and ordered solutions to the generalized Bethe Ansatz equations for the one dimensional Hubbard model on a finite lattice, with periodic boundary conditions.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Positive solutions of semipositone singular fractional differential systems with a parameter and integral boundary conditions

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2018
In this paper, the existence of positive solutions for systems of semipositone singular fractional differential equations with a parameter and integral boundary conditions is investigated. By using fixed point theorem in cone, sufficient conditions which

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Positive solutions of nonlinear integral equations arising in infectious diseases

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1988
The following nonlinear integral equation (1) \(x(t)=\int^{t}_{t- \tau}f(s,x(s))ds\) can be interpreted as a model for the spread of certain infectious diseases. This equation is examined in the heading under the assumptions that f(t,x) is nonnegative and continuous on the set \(R\times R_+\), is \(\omega\)-periodic in t and such that \(f(t,0)=0\) for \
