Approximating Explicitly the Mean-Reverting CEV Process

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2015
We are interested in the numerical solution of mean-reverting CEV processes that appear in financial mathematics models and are described as nonnegative solutions of certain stochastic differential equations with sublinear diffusion coefficients of the ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Gas-kinetic schemes for the compressible Euler equations: Positivity-preserving analysis

open access: yes, 1999
Numerical schemes based on the collisional BGK model have been developed in recent years. In this paper, we investigate the first-order BGK schemes for the Euler equations.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Positivity Preserving Schemes for Black-Scholes Equation

open access: yes, 2015
Mathematical finance is a field of applied mathematics, concerned with financial markets. In the market of financial derivatives the most important problem is the so called option valuation problem, i.e. to compute a fair value for the option.

Positivity-preserving finite volume methods for compressible Navier-Stokes equations

open access: yes, 2017
In this thesis, we discuss first and second order finite volume methods to solve the one dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations. We prove the first order finite volume method preserves positivity for the density and pressure.

Positivity-preserving discontinuous Galerkin scheme for linear hyperbolic equations with characteristics-informed augmentation

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
This paper presents a positivity-preserving discontinuous Galerkin (DG) scheme for the linear hyperbolic problem with variable coefficients on structured Cartesian domains.
