Global approaches to the role of miRNAs in drug-induced changes in gene expression
Neurons modulate gene expression with subcellular precision through excitation-coupled local protein synthesis, a process that is regulated in part through the involvement of microRNAs (miRNAs), a class of small noncoding RNAs. The biosynthesis of miRNAs

Postsynaptic densities fragment into subcomplexes upon sonication [PDF]
Postsynaptic density (PSD) fractions were isolated from rat forebrain and sonicated. Pellets from sonicated samples examined by electron microscopy revealed particles with an electron density similar to PSDs that appeared to be fragments of PSDs. Immuno-gold labeling confirmed that some of these contained PSD-95 and/or SynGAP.

Path‐decoupled III–V van der Waals memtransistors spatially separate ionic and electronic transport to overcome the conventional trade‐off between accuracy and energy in neuromorphic hardware. Mobile K+ ions in the vdW gaps set a wide conductance window, Gmax/Gmin, while gate‐tunable hole conduction lowers programming energy, enabling reliable ...

Proteomic analysis of postsynaptic density in Alzheimer's Disease [PDF]
The loss of synaptic function is a pivotal mechanism in the development of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Structural changes and loss of plasticity in the postsynaptic density (PSD) may contribute to the pathogenesis. However, the underlying molecular events triggering synaptic dysfunction remain elusive.
