Detection and differentiation of low virulence and virulent Orthoavulavirus javaense using a molecular beacon with RT-LAMP

open access: yesScientific Reports
Newcastle disease (ND), an economically important disease in poultry, is caused by virulent strains of the genetically diverse Orthoavulavirus javaense (OAVJ). Laboratories rely on quantitative real-time reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) to detect OAVJ

Determination of selenium speciation in the muscle, kidney, and liver from different animals treated with different selenium supplements by HPLC‐ICP‐MS

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary selenium (Se) deficiency is recognized as a global problem, and exogenous Se supplementation can effectively enrich its levels in animal bodies. Offal tissues are equally important as meat in Se enrichment. Varying properties among Se species require information beyond total Se concentration to fully evaluate health risk/benefits.

Deep Sensitivity Analysis for Objective-Oriented Combinatorial Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Pathogen control is a critical aspect of modern poultry farming, providing important benefits for both public health and productivity. Effective poultry management measures to reduce pathogen levels in poultry flocks promote food safety by lowering risks of food-borne illnesses.

TRIB3 suppresses milk fatty acids metabolism by inhibiting p‐AKT/PPARG signaling in goat mammary epithelial cells

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
In this study, it revealed that TRIB3 could mediate the transcriptional activity of PPARG, inhibit the phosphorylation of akt, and reduce the expression of lipid metabolism‐related genes, thus inhibiting TAG synthesis and affecting fatty acid composition.

TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE IN MEAT AND POULTRY-PACKING AND PROCESSING [PDF]

open access: yes
Nonparametric procedures are used to compare technological change in SIC 2011, meatpacking, and SIC 2015, poultry slaughter and processing. There has been a greater increase in total factor productivity in poultry than in the red meats.

Waste Management and Waste Disposal Detected by Combination of Analytical Methods: Late Bronze Age Březnice Settlement Site (South Bohemia)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Waste disposal processes and landfill management are crucial subjects in the field of settlement archaeology. Our study is focused on understanding the processes that are connected to the formation of the infills of settlement features and the recycling of the building materials (daub and wood) and waste management.
