A Functionally Conserved Enhancer is Critical for PGC1A Expression and Thermogenesis in Brown Fat
An evolutionarily conserved enhancer controls PGC1A expression and thermogenic activation in brown adipose tissue. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify two BAT‐specific enhancers, with PGC1A‐En1 functioning as the dominant regulatory element that maintains thermogenic capacity across species.

Using Different Cage Enrichments to Improve Rabbits’ Performance, Behavior, and Welfare
Environmental enrichment is about improving the surroundings in which your animal lives by providing opportunities to express behavioral activity normally, which in turn has a great impact on the animal’s welfare and productivity.

This school education video, which is aimed at 7-12 year olds, has been produced by the National Farmers Union (South West Region) in association with the Wessex Poultry Committee. Its intent is to describe the realities of the poultry industry to school children and it has, seemingly, been made to counter the anti-intensive farming material freely ...

An atomically precise platform was developed for investigating single‐molecule charge transport. This innovative platform enables the creation of highly uniform molecular devices using ruthenium‐based molecules. It reveals a significant enhancement in molecular conductance due to the metallic ruthenium center and a unique barrier‐lowering effect during

How Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5N1) Has Affected World Poultry-Meat Trade [PDF]
In 2003, outbreaks of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 virus had a major negative impact on the global poultry industry. Initially, import demand for both uncooked and cooked poultry declined substantially, due to consumers’ fear of ...

Environmental cadmium exposure disrupts testicular homeostasis through a novel intercellular communication axis. Stressed Sertoli cells release extracellular vesicles carrying damage‐associated molecular patterns and mitochondrial fragments, which activate macrophages via TLR4/NF‐κB signaling.

Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...
