IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2021
This article presents a 6.78-MHz wireless power transfer system with a structure-reconfigurable power amplifier (SR-PA) and a 0X/1X regulating rectifier. The proposed 0X/1X regulating rectifier with local-loop control achieves voltage rectification and regulation without dc–dc converter usage to improve the receiver efficiency.

Power Amplifier Switching (PAS) for Energy Efficient Systems
IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2013We propose a power amplifier (PA) switching/selection (PAS) method to improve the energy efficiency (EE) of a transmit antenna selection and maximum ratio combining (TAS-MRC) system. A PAS transmitter has a PA bank consisting of multiple dissimilar PAs, which operate with different output power levels, and selects the most efficient PA and its power ...

Comparative efficiency analysis of dynamically supplied power amplifiers (PA)
2010 17th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2010Data throughput, reliability, bit-error rates (BER), and backward compatibility complicate modern protocols so much that power amplifiers (PA) drive and demand most of the power mobile devices consume. As a result, PA power efficiency often limits battery life, which is why dynamically adaptive supplies are popular today.

Highly efficient 5G linear power amplifiers (PA) design challenges
2017 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test (VLSI-DAT), 2017The incoming 5G revolution will dramatically increase the design complexity for handsets and communication infrastructures, demanding the RFIC and ASIC chipsets designers, network and system components vendors and telecom operators to provide viable 5G E2E (End-to-End) products and solutions before A.D. 2020.

Power amplifier switching/selection (PAS) for energy efficient MIMO systems
2014 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2014We propose a power amplifier (PA) switching/selection (PAS) method to improve energy efficiency (EE) of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. The prosposed system consists of multiple dissimilar low maximum-output (MaxOut) PAs in addition to multiple identical high-MaxOut PAs.

A novel time misalignment estimation algorithm for envelope tracking (ET) power amplifiers (PA)
2014 IEEE 25th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communication (PIMRC), 2014In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for estimating the delay (dT) between the RF input of an RF power amplifier (PA) and the modulated supply voltage that is generated by an envelope tracking (ET) power modulator, also known as a power tracker.

Hybrid Supply Modulator for High Power RF PA with Non-Inverting Amplifier
2019 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA), 2019In this paper, we design a Hybrid Supply Modulator (HSM) based on Non-Inverting Amplifier for High Power Amplifier (HPA) operating in C-band. Compared with the conventional HSM, the Switching stage and the R-sense stage are eliminated to prevent the power consumption, and the Non-Inverting Amplifier is applied to the linear stage.

Highly Efficient DSP-Guided Power Amplifier (PA) for Wireless OFDM Applications
AIAA Infotech@Aerospace 2010, 2010In this work, a high efficiency double-enveloping DSP-guided hybrid power amplifier design is presented for wide band applications. The high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of OFDM signals is a major bottleneck in the implementation of wide-band high efficiency transmitters.
