The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Power transformer fault diagnosis considering data imbalance and data set fusion

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2021
Improving the accuracy of transformer dissolved gas analysis is always an important demand for power companies. However, the requirement for large numbers of fault samples becomes an obstacle to this demand. This article creatively uses a large number of

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Fast Transformation Method of Service Centre Data Model in Power Grid Resource Service

open access: yesIET Cyber-Physical Systems
In the processing of power grid resource data, incomplete data from service centres lead to data loss, incompleteness, or inaccuracy, which seriously affects the training of neural networks.

A local lattice Boltzmann method for multiple immiscible fluids and dense suspensions of drops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for computational fluid dynamics benefits from a simple, explicit, completely local computational algorithm making it highly efficient. We extend LBM to recover hydrodynamics of multi-component immiscible fluids, whilst

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Evaluating Asymmetric Multicore Systems-on-Chip using Iso-Metrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The end of Dennard scaling has pushed power consumption into a first order concern for current systems, on par with performance. As a result, near-threshold voltage computing (NTVC) has been proposed as a potential means to tackle the limited cooling ...
