Prepulse inhibition (PPI) is a measure of sensorimotor gating or information processing. Few studies have examined PPI in bipolar disorder (BD); two studies reported a PPI disruption and two reported no change. There are gender differences in PPI and within the clinical profile of BD, which may explain some of these discrepancies.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
