Expressions of Kisspeptin System and Ki‐67 in the Reproductive Tissues of Cyclic Bitches

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 61, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Kisspeptin is a peptide that plays a pivotal role in the central regulation of gonadotropins. It is regarded as a key regulator of reproductive processes, including follicular and luteal development and endometrial remodelling. The objective of this study was to investigate the expression of KISS1, its receptor KISS1R and the proliferation ...

IGF‐1 Deficiency Serves as an Integrated Biomarker Pathogenic Driver and Predictor in Poor Ovarian Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 18, 27 March 2026.
IGF‐1 deficiency underlies poor ovarian response (POR), as reduced levels in follicular fluid and granulosa cells impair antral follicle formation and compromise reproductive outcomes. Including IGF‐1 as a biomarker significantly enhances the accuracy of models predicting both PORrisk and pregnancy success.

Isolation and characterization of preantral follicles from foetal bovine ovaries [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Quarterly, 1994
A simple, mechanical method is described for the isolation of preantral follicles from bovine foetuses of 220-280 days of gestation. On average, 2918 + 621 (s.d.) preantral follicles were isolated per ovary. The isolated preantral follicles were characterized on the basis of the morphological appearance of the surrounding granulosa cells, the number of

Comparative Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas Reveals the Genetic Regulation of Reproductive Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 17, 23 March 2026.
A cross‐species single‐cell transcriptomic atlas of reproductive and central nervous system tissues from sheep and humans reveals conserved cellular programs and regulatory networks that regulated fertility. Integration with GWAS for sheep lifetime average litter size identifies UNC5–SLIT–BMP signaling as a core pathway coordinating neuroendocrine ...

The role of glucocorticoids in ovarian development of sleep deprived rats

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2019
Objective: Sleep deprivation (SD) adversely affects female reproductive function. In this study, we investigated the role of glucocorticoids in ovarian development in sleep deprived rats.

Calcium alginate microencapsulation of ovarian follicles impacts FSH delivery and follicle morphology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Background We have previously shown that suspension culture prevents follicle flattening and maintains three-dimensional follicle architecture better than culture on flat plates. However, many of the follicles cultured in suspension do eventually rupture,

Evaluating Potential Effects of Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Chamomile contains different bioactive agents such as flavonoids and phytosterols with potential anti‐inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic, antispasmodic, and antitumor characteristics. According to our findings, animal studies have demonstrated the potential benefits of Chamomile consumption in the treatment of PCOS. In contrast, human studies yielded

Altered expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in follicles within dehydroepiandrosterone-induced polycystic ovaries in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a heterogeneous disease characterized by hyperandrogenaemia, hirsutism, oligo- or amenorrhea, insulin resistance and anovulation.

Zinc Deficiency Disrupts Germ Cell Nest Breakdown During In Vitro Ovary Culture

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 93, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT In mammals, the size of the non‐renewable primordial follicle pool is established before or soon after birth. Primordial follicles, each composed of a single oocyte surrounded by somatic cells, are the only source of gametes during the entire reproductive lifespan of the female.

Methods for Equine Preantral Follicles Isolation: Quantitative Aspects

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, 2013
ContentsThe aim of this study was to test the use of mechanical and mechanical‐enzymatic methods, saline solution (SS), and PBS solution for the manipulation and isolation of mare ovarian preantral follicles (PAFs). The ovaries were subjected to mechanical isolation (mixer) alone or in association with enzymatic digestion (collagenase).
