Mechanistic possibilities in prebiotic thiophosphate chemistry
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1978Two types of reactivities of thiophosphates have been demonstrated: one being nucleophilic displacement by the P-S moiety of nucleoside phosphorothioates and the other, phosphorylation via P-S cleavage as the driving force. We have designed a system where both displacement on carbon and P-S cleavage are possible.

Adenine Adsorbed onto Montmorillonite Exposed to Ionizing Radiation: Essays on Prebiotic Chemistry
Astrobiology, 2020Most adsorption and radiolysis experiments related to prebiotic chemistry studies are performed in distilled water or sodium chloride solutions. However, distilled water and sodium chloride solutions do not represent the composition of the primitive seas

Life's Biological Chemistry: A Destiny or Destination Starting from Prebiotic Chemistry?
Chemistry, 2018Research into understanding the origins-and evolution-of life has long been dominated by the concept of taking clues from extant biology and extrapolating its molecules and pathways backwards in time.

Fluid flow fosters prebiotic chemistry
C&EN Global Enterprise, 2017When it comes to understanding the origins of life, scientists have already determined that biochemical building blocks—amino acids, nucleobases, and sugars—can form under early-Earth-like conditions. But figuring out how those simple species combined in a dilute solution to form complex macromolecules has been harder.

Prebiotic Chemistry and Life's Origin
2022How life originated from the inanimate mixture of organic and inorganic compounds on the priomordial earth remains one of the great unknowns in science. This origin of life, or abiogenesis, continues to be examined in the context of the conditions and materials required for natural life to have begun on Earth both theoretically and experimentally. This

Formation of Glyoxylic Acid in Interstellar Ices: A Key Entry Point for Prebiotic Chemistry.
Angewandte Chemie, 2019With nearly 200 molecules detected in interstellar and circumstellar environments, the identification of the biologically relevant α-keto carboxylic acid, glyoxylic acid (HCOCOOH), is still elusive.
