Analytical and Diagnostic Performance of a Dual‐Target Blood Detection Test for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Reports
Background Surveillance approaches with high sensitivity and specificity for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are still urgently needed. Previous studies have shown that methylation of GNB4 and Riplet can effectively diagnose HCC.

Nicholaus de Heybech of Erfurt, Table Maker and Copyist

open access: yesAestimatio
: Nicholaus de Heybech (fl. 1384–1394) is the author of a clever and compact solution to a major challenge for medieval astronomers: finding the time from mean to true syzygy. His table and associated canon for that purpose are now found in 30 manuscript

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) Norms for Older Patients with a Depressive Disorder

open access: yesMedical Sciences
Background: Interpretation of cognitive performance in older patients with depression is challenging considering the association between late-life depression and (early-stage) neurodegenerative disease.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

"Simultaneous estimation of normal precision matrices" [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper treats the problem of simultaneously estimating the precision matrices in multivariate normal distributions. A condition for improvement on the unbiased estimators of the precision matrices is derived under a quadratic loss function.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

4D Pointwise Terrestrial Laser Scanning Calibration: Radiometric Calibration of Point Clouds

open access: yesSensors
Terrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS), as monostatic LiDAR systems, emit and receive laser pulses through a single aperture, which ensures the simultaneous measurement of signal geometry and intensity.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Precision Agriculture Technology Adoption for Cotton Production

open access: yes
Many studies on the adoption of precision technologies have generally used logit models to explain the adoption behavior of individuals. This study investigates factors affecting the number of specific types of precision agriculture technologies adopted ...
