Prenatal exposure to escitalopram and/or stress in rats [PDF]

open access: yesPsychopharmacology, 2013
A rigorously investigated model of stress and antidepressant administration during pregnancy is needed to evaluate possible effects on the mother. The objective of this study was to develop a model of clinically relevant prenatal exposure to an antidepressant and stress during pregnancy to evaluate the effects on maternal care behavior.Female rats ...

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

Early-life heat stress exposure impacts dairy calf feeding and thermoregulatory behavior

open access: yesJDS Communications, 2022
Heat stress has well-known influences on dairy calf physiology, but less is understood about calf behavioral responses to heat stress. Herein, we evaluated milk replacer intake, standing activity, and lying behaviors of calves exposed to prenatal or ...

Allostatic load and preterm birth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

Paving the Way to Elucidate Hg's Role in Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumorigenesis can result from diverse environmental carcinogens. Among them, mercury—a lifelong bioaccumulative Group 2B carcinogen—has tumorigenic potential that remains poorly understood due to confounding co‐exposures and limited organ‐specific data.

How Deep Are the Invisible Wounds? The Impact of Maternal Stress During Pregnancy on Adolescent Anxiety: A Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesNSC Nursing
Background: Pregnancy-related stress can affect a child’s development for a long time, increasing the likelihood of teenage anxiety. High levels of stress hormone exposure during pregnancy may interfere with the development of the nervous system and ...

Behavioral effects of environmental enrichment on male and female wistar rats with early life stress experiences

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2022
Exposure to adverse childhood experiences or early life stress experiences (ELSs) increase the risk of non-adaptive behaviors and psychopathology in adulthood. Environmental enrichment (EE) has been proposed to minimize these effects.
