Complete design and optimization of multicomponent separation processes: the case study of the quaternary separation of nadolol stereoisomers [PDF]
The direct chromatographic resolution of enantiomers using chiral stationary phases (CSPs) is actually a very well established separation technique. Several reasons were responsible for the growing success of this technique.

Class separation of methylated free bile acids from bile acids conjugated with taurine and methylglycine was accomplished using a solvent system of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane-absolute ethanol 10:1 (v/v). By developing a silica thin-layer plate two times with

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Preparative two dimensional separations involving liquid–liquid chromatography [PDF]
The increasing performances of analytical techniques, especially two-dimensional liquid chromatography hyphenated with highly sensitive detectors, allow discovery of new targeted compounds in highly complex samples, whether biomarkers in environmental effluents, natural metabolomes in natural products or unknown impurities in synthetic chemical process.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Heterocyclic organosilicon compounds separation by preparative gas chromatography
The preparative gas chromatography method has been used for isolation of heterocyclic organosilicon compounds boiling up to 400o C. The ways are shown for solution of problems which arise in the course of isolation of such high boiling substances.
