Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Influence of Punch Shape on Joint Strength in Forge Joining of Al-Si-Coated 22MnB5 Steel During Hot Stamping and Application to Hat Bending

open access: yesMetals
Ultra-high-strength steel sheets were joined by forge joining during hot stamping. This study investigated the influence of punch cross-sectional shape and punch tip inclination shape on joint strength through experiments and finite element simulation ...

Implementation of wear models for stamping tools under press hardening conditions based on laboratory tests

open access: yes, 2014
Tool wear occurring in press hardening processes receives insufficient attention since its corresponding measurements and full-scale experiments are complicated and expensive.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Effect of Lower Sheet Hole on Joint Strength in Pre-Holed Hot Clinching of Al-Si-Coated 22MnB5 Steel Sheets

open access: yesMetals
This study introduced a pre-holed hot clinching process for hot stamping patchwork blanks, using the lower sheet pre-hole as a forming cavity to facilitate material flow and minimize deformation resistance. Evaluated through mechanical testing and finite

Alloy Optimization for Reducing Delayed Fracture Sensitivity of 2000 MPa Press Hardening Steel

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Press hardening steel (PHS) is widely applied in current automotive body design. The trend of using PHS grades with strengths above 1500 MPa raises concerns about sensitivity to hydrogen embrittlement.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Mechanical Properties of Trip Aided Bainitic Ferrite TBF Steels in Production and Service Conditions

open access: yesHittite Journal of Science and Engineering, 2018
I n the automotive industry, one of the most common methods to reduce the weight of the body components is to downgage the sheets using higher strength steels. In the design phase, engineers typically use the material properties of the incoming material,

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...
