Mechanical Regulation of Primary Cilia in Tendon [PDF]
PhDDuring normal activity, tendons are subjected to dynamic tensile strains of approximately 1-10%, whilst mechanical overload can lead to damage and degradation and the development of tendinopathy.

Ocular facial myositis and sialadenitis presenting with new onset ulcerative colitis
Abstract Extra‐intestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) can involve most organ systems, although the immunologic underpinnings are not well understood. Most patients who present with an extra‐intestinal manifestation have a single site of extra‐intestinal involvement; however, a small cohort presents with multiple different sites ...

Primary Cilia Are Not Calcium-Responsive Mechanosensors
Primary cilia are solitary, generally non-motile, hair-like protrusions that extend from the surface of cells between cell divisions. Their antenna-like structure leads naturally to the assumption that they sense the surrounding environment, the most ...

Radiotherapy‐Induced Otitis Media With Effusion in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: A Meta‐Analysis
This meta‐analysis of eight studies comprising 582 NPC patients provides the first quantitative synthesis of radiotherapy‐induced otitis media with effusion (OME), demonstrating a significant overall risk difference of 0.18 (95% CI: −0.06 to 0.42, p < 0.0001) in OME naive ears.

Advances in GPCRs Associated With Wnt Signaling Within the Auditory System
ABSTRACT G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) that interact with the Wnt signaling pathway are pivotal for auditory system homeostasis, as they orchestrate inner ear development, hair cell (HC) regeneration, and hearing preservation. Frizzled (FZD) receptors, the core Wnt‐related GPCRs, bind Wnt ligands and co‐receptors (e.g., LRP5/6) to activate both ...

Structure, interaction and nervous connectivity of beta cell primary cilia
Primary cilia are sensory organelles present in many cell types, partaking in various signaling processes. Primary cilia of pancreatic beta cells play pivotal roles in paracrine signaling and their dysfunction is linked to diabetes.

Ventilation Imaging of the Lung at 0.55T With Continuous Slice Cycling
ABSTRACT Purpose To propose and evaluate a novel method for pulmonary ventilation imaging, offering considerably improved SNR. Methods A continuous slice cycling (CSC) acquisition scheme is proposed to exclusively capture signal modulations from respiratory motion with increased SNR.

ABSTRACT Childhood asthma remains a global public health challenge with suboptimal control, despite the availability of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) as first‐line therapy. Glucocorticoids suppress inflammation and protect the airway epithelial barrier (AEB) via genomic and nongenomic pathways.

Monogenic and syndromic obesity in children often arises from defects in the leptin–melanocortin pathway. Understanding these rare genetic causes not only clarifies mechanisms of appetite regulation but also enables precision therapies, offering hope beyond lifestyle interventions.

Primary Cilia: Highly Sophisticated Biological Sensors
Primary cilia, thin hair-like structures protruding from the apical surface of most mammalian cells, have gained the attention of many researchers over the past decade.
