Growth rates of primary breast cancers

Cancer, 1979
The growth rates of breast cancers are a critical aspect of the natural history of the disease. Growth rates of 32 primary breast cancers were determined from serial mammographic views of tumor nucleus shadows in a population of 109 cancers. These cancers were found in a screening population of 10,120 women receiving over 30,000 mammograms over 3 years.

Primary structure of alpaca growth hormone

International Journal of Peptide and Protein Research, 1991
Reduced and carbamidomethylated alpaca growth hormone was submitted to tryptic digestion. Peptides in the mixture were purified by reverse phase HPLC and N‐terminal determination and an amino acid analysis of each was performed. Data obtained and the already known primary structure of the equine growth hormone allowed the assembly‐by homology‐of a ...

PRIMARY STRUCTURE OF EQUINE GROWTH HORMONE

International Journal of Peptide and Protein Research, 1976
The study of the structure of the peptides arising from native, oxidized, reduced and alkylated or citraconylated equine growth hormone on incubation with trypsin and chymotrypsin is reported. The data obtained, combined with results already published, support the assembly of a unique sequence of amino acids for the polypeptide chain of the protein.

Primary Malignant Growths of the Trachea

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1961
Primary cancer of the trachea is a rare condition: between 1943 and 1959, 19 cases were seen at the Christie Hospital & Holt Radium Institute, 16 of these having histological proof. The main clinical findings are described and treatment is discussed. Results of treatment confirm the lethal nature of the disease—only one case of this series has lived ...

Growth of Human Cytomegalovirus in Primary Macrophages

Methods, 1998
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a major human pathogen that causes considerable disease among immunocompromised individuals. A primary infection results in life-long persistence of the virus in a latent form. HCMV is known to be transferred by blood products, bone marrow, and solid organs, but the cell type that carries the latent infection has been ...

Primary Growth Disturbances

1986
Cornelia de Lange’s syndrome is an occasional familial syndrome characterized by severe mental retardation, peculiar facies (low hairline, heavy confluent eyebrows, small upturned nose, micrognathia, wide and down-turned upper lip), delayed skeletal maturation, and small hands and feet. Cutaneous syndactyly of the feet, proximal insertion of the thumbs,

Enamel Matrix Derivative Prolongs Primary Osteoblast Growth

Journal of Endodontics, 2001
Enamel matrix derivative (EMD) secreted by cells of the epithelial root sheath plays an important role in cementogenesis and periodontal tissue formation. The mechanisms by which EMD influences cell function are not known. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of EMD on cell growth of primary mouse osteoblasts. Osteoblasts were digested

Primary structure of fox pituitary growth hormone

International Journal of Peptide and Protein Research, 1989
Tryptic digests of fox growth hormone (fGH) were separated by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and by paper electrophoresis. From the amino acid composition of these tryptic peptides and from their alignment with the expected tryptic peptides from bovine growth hormone (bGH), the primary structure of fGH is proposed.

Primary Iris Stromal Cyst with Rapid Growth

Optometry and Vision Science, 2009
To describe the clinical features and the surgical management of primary iris stromal cyst with rapid growth.A 14-year-old Chinese-Mongolian girl was referred to us with a 1-month history of obstructed vision and photophobia. On an examination, a semitransparent cyst with a densely pigmented posterior wall was revealed in the anterior chamber of the ...
