Ideal Cardiovascular Health Metrics in Couples: A Community‐Based Study

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2018
BackgroundDetermination of the correlation of ideal cardiovascular health variables among spousal or cohabitating partners may guide the development of couple‐based interventions to reduce cardiovascular disease risk.

The transfer ideal under the action of orthogonal group in modular case

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2022
In this paper, we study the structures of the invariant subspaces under the action of orthogonal group O2ν(Fq,S){O}_{2\nu }\left({F}_{q},S). In particular, we give a detailed description of 2-codimensional invariant subspaces.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Low-Fee Private Schools in Developing Nations: Some Cautionary Remarks

open access: yesGlobal justice: Theory, Practice, Rhetoric, 2020
This paper examines and rejects two normative justifications for low-fee private schools (LFPS), whose expansion throughout the Global South in recent years has been significant.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Depth and Stanley depth of the edge ideals of the powers of paths and cycles

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2019
Let k be a positive integer. We compute depth and Stanley depth of the quotient ring of the edge ideal associated to the kth power of a path on n vertices.

Does one size fit everyone? Replacement dose of levothyroxine in long-standing primary hypothyroidismin adults

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2017
Objectives: The recommended starting dose of levothyroxine (LT4) in primary hypothyroidism is 1.6 μg/kg body weight and is based on presumption of minimal residual thyroid function in autoimmune hypothyroidism.

Radicals of Generalized Prime Ideals in Ternary Semigroups

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2022
In this paper, the concepts of f-prime ideals and f-semiprime ideals on a ternary semigroup are considered as a generalization of pseudo prime ideals and pseudo semiprime ideals, respectively.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

On the Embedded Primary Components of Ideals (IV) [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1995
The results in this paper expand the fundamental decomposition theory of ideals pioneered by Emmy Noether. Specifically, let I I be an ideal in a local ring ( R , M ) (R,M) that has M M as an embedded prime divisor, and for a prime divisor P P of
