Heuristic Algorithm for Priority Traffic Signal Control

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2011
A heuristic algorithm is presented for traffic signal control with simultaneous multiple priority requests at isolated intersections in the context of vehicle-to-infrastructure communications being available on priority vehicles, such as emergency vehicles and transit buses.

Heuristic algorithms for priority assignment in flow shops

1998 IEEE International Performance, Computing and Communications Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.98CH36191), 2002
An end to end approach for scheduling hard real time periodic transactions in a multiprocessor or distributed system is considered. Each transaction consists of a chain of tasks, where each task is allocated to a processor based on its resource requirements.

A Heuristic Framework for Priority Based Nurse Scheduling

2017
Nurse Scheduling Problem is traditionally studied as a multi objective problem which aims at an optimum scheduling of nurse assignment to patients in a hospital. Remote healthcare is involved with providing quality care and medical assistance to patients based on remote monitoring.

Priority-based and conflict-avoidance heuristics for multi-satellite scheduling

Applied Soft Computing, 2018
Abstract In this paper we address the problem of multi-satellite scheduling with limited observing ability. As with other computationally hard combinatorial optimization problems, a two-stage heuristic method is developed to obtain high quality solutions in a reasonable amount of computation time.

A priority list based heuristic for the job shop problem

Journal of the Operational Research Society, 2003
Summary: A priority list for the job shop scheduling problem is defined to be any permutation of a set of symbols where the symbol for each job appears as many times as the number of its operations. Every priority list can be associated in a natural way with a feasible schedule, and every feasible schedule arises in this way.

Exploration Priority Based Heuristic Approach to UAV path planning

2013 IEEE RO-MAN, 2013
This paper presents a 3D online path planning algorithm for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with limited range sensors and computational resources in unknown cluttered environments. Even though quadrotor UAVs are considered to be a promising technology for surveillance purposes in indoor environments and for close observation in outdoor urban ...

Cooperative Multi-Robot Path Planning by Heuristic Priority Adjustment

2006 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2006
In this paper, a new algorithm for cooperative path planning in a multi-robot system is introduced. The algorithm is specially designed for a distributed system with a large number of robots, all of which should be able to reach their respective goal positions without blocking each other, even if the environment is heavily constricted by obstacles. The

PRIORITIZING THE RISK PRIORITY NUMBERS IN FMECA – A HEURISTIC APPROACH

2023
Risk management is one of the most important fields that diagnose hazards and traces by the application of various tools available. In any mines or industries it is necessary to estimate and predict the risk associated with the components/equipment or machineries in order to avoid the loss/damage.

Scheduling heuristics for data requests in an oversubscribed network with priorities and deadlines

Proceedings 20th IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, 2002
Providing up-to-date input to users' applications is an important data management problem for a distributed computing environment, where each data storage location and intermediate node may have specific data available, storage limitations, and communication links available.
