Towards a mental probability logic
We propose probability logic as an appropriate standard of reference for evaluating human inferences. Probability logical accounts of nonmonotonic reasoning with SYSTEM P, and conditional syllogisms (MODUS PONENS, etc.) are explored.

The paper opens with a brief historical sketch of the many varied conceptions of the subject which have been considered. Confined to the propositional level, a logic is then presented in which the notion of probability replaces that of truth. Superficially a many-valued logic, it differs from what has heretofore been studied as many-valued logic in ...

Introduction to Mediation Analysis and Examples of Its Application to Real-world Data [PDF]
Traditional epidemiological assessments, which mainly focused on evaluating the statistical association between two major components-the exposure and outcome-have recently evolved to ascertain the in-between process, which can explain the underlying ...

Interval Neutrosophic Sets and Logic: Theory and Applications in Computing [PDF]
This book presents the advancements and applications of neutrosophics. The neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic set, neutrosophic probability, and neutrosophic statistics are increasingly used in engineering applications (especially for software and ...

The Logic of Probability: A Trip through Uncertainty
In real life we have to deal with uncertainty, imprecision and vagueness. Many ideas were introduced and studied in detail to manage with these problems. Now we briefly expose the main formal concepts which describe non-ideal situations, i.e. Probability,

Noise‐based logic locking scheme against signal probability skew analysis
Due to integrated circuit (IC) production chain globalisation, several new threats such as hardware trojans, counterfeiting and overproduction are threatening the IC industry. So logic locking is deployed to hinder these security threats.

A LOGIC FOR UNCERTAIN PROBABILITIES [PDF]
We first describe a metric for uncertain probabilities called opinion, and subsequently a set of logical operators that can be used for logical reasoning with uncertain propositions. This framework which is called subjective logic uses elements from the Dempster-Shafer belief theory and we show that it is compatible with binary logic and probability ...
