Molecular distribution of biocide resistance genes and susceptibility to biocides among vancomycin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) isolates from intensive care unit (ICU) of cardiac hospital- A first report from Pakistan

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Background: The study was conducted with the aim to investigate the VRSA isolates in terms of their susceptibility to routinely used biocides influenced by the co-occurrence of biocide resistant gene (BRGs) and efflux pumps genes. Methodology: Frequently

Effect of Alum and Liquid Alum on pH, EC, Moisture, Ammonium and Soluble Phosphorus Contents in Poultry Litter During Short Term: a Laboratory Experiment

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2009
Aluminum sulfate (alum, [Al2 (SO4)3. 14H2O]) additions to poultry litter can be used effectively as litter amendments, which can lead to greatly reduce ammonia emissions and phosphorus solubility in the poultry industry.

AI‐Driven Defecation Analysis by Smart Healthcare Toilet: Exploring Biometric Patterns and Eu‐Tenesmus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthcare toilet system is introduced to passively measure defecation behavior. Real‐time data on stool dropping duration, thickness, and a newly defined “eu‐tenesmus” interval show correlations with stool form and gender differences. Results from 45 defecation events reveal a promising method for comprehensive defecation analysis.

Targeted Intervention Strategies for Maternal–Offspring Transmission of Christensenellaceae in Pigs via a Deep Learning Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study deciphers maternal‐driven microbial transmission in pigs using a deep learning model (maternal–offspring microbial transmission model), identifying Christensenellaceae R‐7 group as a key transmitted taxon. Filtered galacto‐oligosaccharides‐targeted Christensenellaceae R‐7 group alters offspring microbial functions via maternal ...

Allelic and Genotype Frequencies of CYP2B6∗2 (64C > T) and CYP2B6∗3 (777C > A) in Three Dominant Ethnicities of the Iranian Population

open access: yesGenetics Research, 2023
Background. Cytochrome P450 complex plays a key role in drug metabolism. CYP2B6 has an essential part in Cytochrome P450 complex metabolism. This study aims to determine the allelic distribution of CYP2B6∗2 and CYP2B6∗3 in three main Iranian ethnicities:
