Enhancing 3D Printing with Procedural Generation and STL Formatting Using Python

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Three-dimensional printing has become a fast-growing industry. The first phase of this technology is the design of a 3D object to personalize it and optimize its production. This paper explores the procedural generation of the 3D model.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Visual perception of procedural textures: identifying perceptual dimensions and predicting generation models. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Procedural models are widely used in computer graphics for generating realistic, natural-looking textures. However, these mathematical models are not perceptually meaningful, whereas the users, such as artists and designers, would prefer to make ...

Procedural generation of mediterranean environments

open access: yes2016 39th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO), 2016
This paper describes an overall process of procedural generation of natural environments through terrain generation, texturing and scattering of terrain cover. Although described process can be used to create various types of environments, focus of this paper has been put on Mediterranean which is somewhat specific and has not yet received any ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

The predictive role of early recurrences of atrial arrhythmias after pulmonary vein cryoballoon ablation. Is blanking period an outdated concept? Insights from 12-month continuous cardiac monitoring

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2021
Background Early recurrences of atrial arrhythmias (ERAA) after atrial fibrillation (AF) catheter ablation do not predict procedural failure. A well-demarcated homogeneous lesion delivered by cryoballoon is less arrhythmogenic, and the recommended three ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Procedural generation of aesthetic patterns from dynamics and iteration processes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2017
Aesthetic patterns are widely used nowadays, e.g., in jewellery design, carpet design, as textures and patterns on wallpapers, etc. Most of the work during the design stage is carried out by a designer manually.
