A New Modification Method with Double Spline Curve for the Tooth Surface Design of Spur Gear

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
A new tooth surface design is proposed to spur gears with a tooth surface modification defined by double spline curves, which are used to represent the tooth profile and longitudinal profile, respectively.

Cladding mode coupling in highly localized fiber Bragg gratings: modal properties and transmission spectra

open access: yes, 2010
The spectral characteristics of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with a transversely inhomogeneous refractive index profile, differs con- siderably from that of a transversely uniform one.

Analysis of Modification of Spur Gear Profile

open access: yesTehnički vjesnik, 2018
The article presents an analysis of the modification of the toothing of spur gears. The aim of the modification of the profile on the tooth tip is to compensate for the tooth deflection under loading and to improve the conditions of gear operation. Cases of longitudinal toothing modification of a convex-convex (Cv-Cv type) tooth are described, where ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Relaminarization of pipe flow by means of 3d-printed shaped honeycombs

open access: yes, 2018
Based on a novel control scheme, where a steady modification of the streamwise velocity profile leads to complete relaminarization of initially fully turbulent pipe flow, we investigate the applicability and usefulness of custom-shaped honeycombs for ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Influence of Walker Curve Tooth Root Modification on Thermoelastic Grease Lubrication Characteristics of Large Internal Gears

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2023
The influence of Walker curve modification method on the tooth surface lubrication state of grease lubricated large internal meshing cylindrical spur gears is studied. According to the meshing law and engineering experience of internal meshing gear pairs,

Dark matter according to the tensor-four-scalars theory

open access: yes, 2011
Massive gravity previously constructed as the spin-2 quantum gauge theory leads in the mass zero limit to a modification of general relativity. As a relic from the massive theory a vector field v survives which couples to the metric only.

Modification of the carbohydrate profile of oatmeal cookies

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Excessive sugar consumption worldwide has become an increasing problem in recent years. Excessive sugar consumption can lead to serious diseases such as diabetes and obesity. Confectionery products make a significant contribution to this problem. The carbohydrates in the formulation of traditional confectionery products have a high glycemic index ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
