Polycomb repressive complex 1.1 coordinates homeostatic and emergency myelopoiesis
Polycomb repressive complex (PRC) 1 regulates stem cell fate by mediating mono-ubiquitination of histone H2A at lysine 119. While canonical PRC1 is critical for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) maintenance, the role of non-canonical PRC1 in ...

Plastic-adherent progenitor cells in mobilized peripheral blood progenitor cell collections [PDF]
The use of peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPC) to reconstitute hematopoiesis after high-dose chemoradiotherapy is now commonplace in the treatment of malignancies. Attempts to characterize these cells have concentrated primarily on their phenotype and their content of clonogenic colony-forming cells (CFC).

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Improving the viability of tissue‐resident stem cells using an organ‐preservation solution
Human clinical specimens are a valuable source of tissue‐resident stem cells, but such cells need to be collected immediately after tissue collection. To extend the timescale for collection from fresh human samples, we developed a new extracellular fluid

Sex Differences in Circulating Progenitor Cells
BackgroundLower levels of circulating progenitor cells (PCs) reflect impaired endogenous regenerative capacity and are associated with aging, vascular disease, and poor outcomes.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Common endothelial progenitor cell assays identify discrete endothelial progenitor cell populations [PDF]
Multiple measures of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) have been described, but there has been limited study of the comparability of these assays. We sought to determine the reproducibility of and correlation between alternative EPC assay methodologies. We simultaneously assessed EPC numbers in 140 patients undergoing cardiac catheterization using the

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Progenitor-Based Cell Biological Aspects of Neocortex Development and Evolution
During development, the decision of stem and progenitor cells to switch from proliferation to differentiation is of critical importance for the overall size of an organ. Too early a switch will deplete the stem/progenitor cell pool, and too late a switch

A multipotent EGF-responsive striatal embryonic progenitor cell produces neurons and astrocytes
The mitogenic actions of epidermal growth factor (EGF) were examined in low-density, dissociated cultures of embryonic day 14 mouse striatal primordia, under serum-free defined conditions.
