The APM Proper Motion Project - I. High proper motion stars [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1992
Results are presented on a subset of proper motion data with |μ|≥0.04 arcsec yr −1 from the APM Proper Motion Project. Comparisons made with the NLTT catalogue show that the levels of contamination and incompleteness in this catalogue are consistent with the random measuring errors in the proper motions.

Chandra Proper Motions and Milliarcsecond Astrometry of 19 Pulsars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present X-ray proper motion (PM) measurements of 19 pulsars using new and archival data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory, including pulsar wind trails and X-ray filaments. Precise X-ray PMs are often limited by uncertainties in aligning observations

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The Timing and Polarization of PSR J0002+6216

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The combined timing analysis of data from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) and the Fermi Large Area Telescope confirmed that PSR J0002+6216 is not a hyper-velocity (exceeding 1000 km s ^−1 ) pulsar.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The Proper Motion of the High Galactic Latitude Pulsar Calvera

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Calvera (1RXS J141256.0+792204) is a pulsar of characteristic age 285 kyr at a high Galactic latitude of b = +37°, detected only in soft thermal X-rays.

Massive Hypervelocity Runaway Stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Since the hypervelocity stars were discovered in the Milky Way, various mechanisms have been proposed to explain these runaway stars. Up to now, however, the dominant ejected mechanism of hypervelocity stars is still unclear.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The Hubble Missing Globular Cluster Survey

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
The Hubble Missing Globular Cluster Survey has secured high-quality astro-photometric data in two bands for 34 clusters never observed with HST. When combined with Gaia astrometry, this dataset enables the investigation of the bulk motion and the ...

JWST-TST Proper Motions. I. High-precision NIRISS Calibration and Large Magellanic Cloud Kinematics

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We develop and disseminate effective point-spread functions and geometric-distortion solutions for high-precision astrometry and photometry with the JWST NIRISS instrument. We correct field dependencies and detector effects, and assess the
