Gestational Hypoxia Disrupts Medial Ganglionic Eminence Progenitor Dynamics and Interneuron Development in Schizophrenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FES‐derived MGE spheroids exhibit progenitor‐stage alterations in developmental trajectory and hypoxia‐responsive transcriptional programs, followed by functional disruption. Gestational hypoxia recapitulates impaired progenitor proliferation, shortened cell‐cycle progression, interneuron developmental abnormalities, and schizophrenia‐like behaviors in

Distribution patterns of vimentin‐immunoreactive structures in the human prosencephalon during the second half of gestation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, 1999
Neuronal migration is guided by long radially oriented glial fibres. During late stages of development radial glial cells are transformed into astrocytes. A predominant intermediate filament protein within radial glial cells and immature astrocytes is vimentin.

Alobar holoprosencephaly, proboscis and cyclopia in a chromosomally normal fetus: Prenatal diagnosis and fetal outcome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Holoprosencephaly is a brain malformation that develops as a result of a defect in development of prosencephalon during early gestation. Holoprosencephaly can be diagnosed with prenatal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging.

ATL2 Recruits TRAK1 to Promote Mitochondrial Transport at ER–Mitochondria Contact Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mitochondrial transport and distribution are crucial for cellular homeostasis, yet whether and how they are regulated by endoplasmic reticulum (ER)–mitochondria contact sites remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the ER protein atlastin‐2 (ATL2) orchestrates mitochondrial transport and distribution by promoting assembly of the transport ...

Temporal sequence of gene expression leading caudal prosencephalon to develop a midbrain/hindbrain phenotype [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, 2001
AbstractTransplantation of prosomeres 1‐2 into the cerebellar plate were used, by using chick/quail chimeras, to analyse the temporal sequence of the genetic cascade leading the graft to develop a midbrain/hindbrain phenotype. Our results show that (1) at Hamburger and Hamilton (HH) stage 13, Pax2 and En2 are already induced within the graft, before ...

SemanticST: A Scalable Multi‐Contextual Graph Learning Framework for Uncovering Spatial Niches and Robust Multi‐Sample Integration in Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Technical limitations often let dominant signals overshadow rare cell types and fine‐grained heterogeneity in spatial transcriptomics. SemanticST, a graph neural network using multi‐semantic graph fusion and a novel min‐cut loss, recovers these subtle patterns.

VlPAG/DRN Microglia Drive Neuropathic Pain‐Induced Depression via a Defined Neuroimmune Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peripheral nerve injury (SNI) induces neuropathic pain, activates midbrain microglia, and triggers an NLRP3–IL‐1β–dependent inflammatory cascade. IL‐1β signals through IL‐1R1 on vlPAG/DRN VGLUT2+ neurons (vlPAG/DRNGlu), inducing hyperexcitability and driving the vlPAG/DRNGlu→BNSTGABA circuit to produce the affective component of neuropathic pain ...

Prenatal Diagnosis of Alobar Holoprosencephaly with Cystic Hygroma

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2006
Objective: Holoprosencephaly is a kind of brain anomaly characterized by inadequate cleavage of the prosencephalon during early embryogenesis. In addition, holoprosencephaly associated with cystic hygroma and hydrops fetalis has never been reported.

STWave: Fine‐Scale Spatial Structure Discovery in Microscopic‐Resolution Spatial Transcriptomics via Patchwise Wavelet Graphs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
STWave transforms massive microscopic‐resolution spatial transcriptomics into interpretable fine‐scale tissue maps through patch‐wise inference, wavelet‐based multi‐scale encoding, and dual‐domain reconstruction. It reduces noise while preserving weak spatial signals, enabling efficient analysis of 6 40 000 spots of 2.47 GB GPU memory and revealing ...

Early Spatial and Contextual Coding Deficits in Hippocampal CA1 Precede Performance Decline in an Alzheimer's Disease Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two‐photon calcium imaging in behaving 5xFAD mice reveals early CA1 coding deficits before behavioral decline. Task‐related place cell activity and splitter cell trajectory coding are impaired, with reduced retrospective dominance and greater prospective weighting.
