Cyclooxygenase Inhibition Limits Blood-Brain Barrier Disruption following Intracerebral Injection of Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha in the Rat [PDF]
Increased permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is important in neurological disorders. Neuroinflammation is associated with increased BBB breakdown and brain injury. Tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) is involved in BBB injury and edema formation through a mechanism involving matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) upregulation. There is emerging evidence

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is a key mediator involved in several inflammatory conditions. In this study, we investigated the expression and regulation of the terminal PGE2 synthesizing enzyme prostaglandin E synthases (mPGES-1, mPGES-2 and cPGES) in gingival fibroblasts stimulated with pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Mechanical Biomimetic Nanocomposites for Multidimensional Treatment of Arterial Thrombosis
In this study, a mechanical biomimetic nanocomposite is developed, guided by photoacoustic imaging, to achieve highly efficient and safe thrombolysis through the synergistic effects of photothermal therapy and pharmacological intervention. Most notably, the nanoparticle improves the microenvironment of arterial thrombi, marked by high shear stress and ...

In this work, we demonstrated that PUM70 specifically suppressed LPS‐mediated inflammatory responses. Notably, PUM70 treatment inhibited LPS‐induced lung damage, pro‐inflammatory cytokine production, and reduced macrophage infiltration in the lungs. Mechanistically, PUM70 suppressed LPS‐induced inflammation and oxidative stress via the Nrf2/HO‐1 and ...

Identification of structural features in chemicals associated with cancer drug response: A systematic data-driven analysis [PDF]
Motivation: Analysis of relationships of drug structure to biological response is key to understanding off-target and unexpected drug effects, and for developing hypotheses on how to tailor drug thera-pies. New methods are required for integrated analyses of a large number of chemical features of drugs against the corresponding genome-wide responses of

Prostaglandin (PG) E2 and PGI2 are essential to hyperalgesia in inflammatory tissues. These prostaglandins are produced from arachidonic acid, which is cleaved from membrane phospholipids by the action of phospholipase A2 (PLA2). Which isozyme of PLA2 is

Pogostemon cablin Benth. (PCEE) is a promising antiaging agent that inhibits ROS, decreases the senescence‐associated β‐galactosidase (SA‐β‐gal) gene, and maintains telomere length in doxorubicin‐induced 3T3‐L1 fibroblast cells. The researchers extend their gratitude to www.freepik.com for providing Figure telomer.
