Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Control of neurotransmission by prostaglandins in canine trachealis smooth muscle.

open access: yes, 1984
Contractile responses of canine tracheal smooth muscle to electrical field stimulation diminished over a 2-h period of incubation. However, addition of indomethacin (10(-5) M) for a similar time not only prevented this inhibition of contractile response,

Single‐Cell Reveal GALNT7‐Dependent Ferroptosis Suppression as a Mechanism of Immunotherapy Resistance in Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated clinical and mechanistic analyses identify GALNT7 as a ferroptosis‐suppressive regulator associated with immunotherapy resistance in non‐small cell lung cancer. GALNT7 depletion promotes lipid peroxidation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ferroptosis, enhances CD8+ T‐cell activation and IFN‐γ production, and sensitizes tumors to PD‐1 blockade,

Emergence of highly profibrotic and proinflammatory Lrat+Fbln2+ HSC subpopulation in alcoholic hepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (

Effects of misoprostrol on pentylenetetrazol-induced seizures in mice Efeitos de misoprostrol sobre convulsões induzidas por pentilenotetrazol em camundongos

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria, 1997
The effects of prostaglandin E - analogue misoprostol on the susceptibility to pentilenetetrazol(PTZ) - induced seizures were examined in mice. Misoprostol (200-800 mg/kg), given subcutaneously 45 min before the subconvulsive dose of PTZ (30 mg/kg, i.p ...

Prostaglandins of the E-series inhibit connective tissue proliferation in the liver wound of the rat

open access: yes, 2005
The present study was undertaken to relate wound heating of an internal organ to prostaglandins of the E and F series. A small liver wound was induced by a galvanic cauter via the abdominal route under general anesthesia and prostaglandin E-1, E-2 and F ...

T2T Genome Assembly and Multi‐Omics Data Reveal Terrestrial Adaptation and Mucus Biosynthesis in Tropical Leatherleaf Slug (Laevicaulis alte)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A gap‐free genome assembly and multi‐omics comparison of the terrestrial slug Laevichaulis alte with an aquatic relative reveal that expansion of the VEGF family orchestrates mucus production, lipid metabolism, and immune defense—highlighting key molecular innovations for conquering life on land.

Synthetic studies towards the prostaglandins

open access: yes, 1978
The synthesis of an important intermediate (36) in a total synthesis of the prostaglandins was undertaken. Treatment of the monoanion of the pyrrolidine enamine of methyl acetoacetate with cis-4,5-epoxy-2(E)-decen-1-yl mesylate (42) followed by addition ...

Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Preliminary Study on the Restoration of the Phospholipid Profile in Serum from Patients with COVID-19 by Treatment with Vitamin E

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
SARS-CoV-2 is an obligatory intracellular pathogen that requires a lipid bilayer membrane for its transport to build its nucleocapsid envelope and fuse with the host cell.
