Machine learning for identifying liver and pancreas cancers through comprehensive serum glycopeptide spectra analysis: a case‐control study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel AI‐based diagnostic approach—comprehensive serum glycopeptide spectra analysis (CSGSA)—that integrates tumor markers and enriched glycopeptides from serum. Using a neural network model, this method accurately distinguishes liver and pancreatic cancers from healthy individuals.

Comparison of MR/ultrasound fusion-guided biopsy with ultrasound-guided biopsy for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), 2015
IMPORTANCE Targeted magnetic resonance (MR)/ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy has been shown to detect prostate cancer. The implications of targeted biopsy alone vs standard extended-sextant biopsy or the 2 modalities combined are not well understood ...

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Prostatic melanosis

open access: yesUrology Annals, 2014
Prostatic melanosis is a very rare, benign lesion characterized by the presence of melanin in the epithelium of the prostate gland and stromal dendritic cells, requiring no additional treatment. It constitutes the melanocytic lesions of the prostate together with blue nevus and malignant melanoma.

Single‐cell transcriptomics redefines focal neuroendocrine differentiation as a distinct prostate cancer pathology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomics of prostate cancer patient‐derived xenografts reveals distinct features of neuroendocrine (NE) subtypes. Tumours with focal NE differentiation (NED) share transcriptional programmes with adenocarcinoma, differing from large and small cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC). Our work defines the molecular landscape of NEPC,

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

Evaluating different methods for kidney recellularization

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study explores a potential solution to the shortage of kidneys for transplantation in end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Currently, kidney transplantation stands as the optimal option, yet the scarcity of organs persists.
