Topics in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2020
Abstract Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been increasingly used in the detection, localization, and staging of prostate cancer. Because of its excellent soft tissue contrast and multiplane imaging, it can be also very useful in the evaluation of benign prostate diseases.

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice, 2018
All intact, male dogs will experience benign prostatic hyperplasia and hypertrophy, usually by around 6 years old. Although these dogs will be predisposed to prostatic infections, only a small subset will actually develop infections or show clinical signs of discomfort or subfertility.

Non-prostatic malignant disease mimicking prostatic cancer
International Urology and Nephrology, 1990Three patients with pelvic tumours (2 cases of pelvic sarcoma and 1 case of metastatic bronchial carcinoma) presented with symptoms and signs suggestive of prostatic carcinoma. Transrectal ultrasonic scanning with perineal biopsy facilitated the diagnosis. The prognosis of pelvic sarcoma was poor following radiotherapy.

Prostatic ultrasound in follow-up of prostatic disease
Urology, 1988Longitudinal and radial transrectal prostatic ultrasound techniques were compared for their consistency and reproducibility in recording prostatic size. While the longitudinal image at the 12:00 position was consistent, radial scanning was variable depending on whether the apex, mid, or base aspects of the prostate were scanned.
