Protectin D1 reduces imiquimod-induced psoriasiform skin inflammation

International Immunopharmacology, 2021
Specialized proresolving mediators are enzymatically oxygenated natural molecules derived from polyunsaturated fatty acids and are considered novel. These novel mediators include lipoxins from arachidonic acid, resolvins and protectins from omega-3 essential fatty acids, and new maresins.

Protectins in Argentine Mollusks: Immunological and Immunochemical Aspects

1975
Protectins and agglutinins in several organs, fluids and spawn from Argentine terrestrial and fresh-water gastropod species were examined. Differences or analogies with vertebrate immunoglobulin serological behaviour are summarized. Individual or group variability and the evolutionary meaning of the reproductive system-linked and the Ca++ ion-linked ...

Confusion between protectin D1 (PD1) and its isomer protectin DX (PDX). An overview on the dihydroxy-docosatrienes described to date

Biochimie, 2014
There is currently a growing interest in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) oxygenated metabolites. Among them, protectin D1 (PD1), an endogenous dihydroxylated and non-cyclic docosatriene made through lipoxygenation and hydrolysis of an epoxide intermediate, shows appealing biological effects.

Resolvins and protectins in the termination program of acute inflammation

Trends in Immunology, 2007
The physiological resolution of a well-orchestrated inflammatory response is essential to maintain homeostasis. Therefore, gaining a comprehensive understanding in molecular terms of the events that direct the termination of acute inflammation is imperative.

Mediator Lipidomics: Search Algorithms for Eicosanoids, Resolvins, and Protectins

2007
Within the domain of lipidomics, lipid mediator lipidomics and informatics is an exciting area because of the important roles of lipid-derived mediators in health and disease. It is well-appreciated that arachidonic acid is a precursor to potent bioactive mediators, such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and lipoxins.

Immunolocalization of protectin (CD59) and macrophages in polymyositis and dermatomyositis

Journal of Neuroimmunology, 2004
Immunohistochemical stainings for protectin (CD59) and for the macrophage/monocyte antigen were performed in muscle specimens of polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM) patients. In control muscles, a granular immunostaining of CD59 at the surface of 10-15% from among muscle fibers and an intense reaction in endothelia of blood vessels were noted ...

Immunological characterization of blood group A reactive protectins from Helix pomatia

Zeitschrift für Rechtsmedizin, 1973
The immunoelectrophoretic analysis of the albumin gland extract of Helix pomatia reveals at least 10 precipitation arcs. Absorption experiments have shown 2 of them represent that antibody-like protectins reacting with blood group A rezeptors. One of these protectins reacts with the Forssman antigen as well the other one does not.

Total synthesis of the antiinflammatory and proresolving protectin D1

Tetrahedron Letters, 2011
Stereoselective total synthesis of protectin D1 was completed through construction of the Z,E,E-triene structure by using the Suzuki coupling between the vinyl borane (C13–C22) and the vinyl iodide (C1–C12). The Z-enyne, the acetylene precursor of the vinyl borane was synthesized from optically active γ-TMS allylic alcohol in a straightforward way.
