Proteomic dissection of endosperm starch granule associated proteins reveals a network coordinating starch biosynthesis and amino acid metabolism and glycolysis in rice endosperms

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Starch biosynthesis and starch granule packaging in cereal endosperms involve a coordinated action of starch biosynthesis enzymes and coordination with other metabolisms.

Peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase and its critical role in protein biosynthesis.

open access: yesMicrobiology, 2006
Peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase (Pth) releases tRNA from peptidyl-tRNA by cleaving the ester bond between the peptide and the tRNA. Genetic analyses using Escherichia coli harbouring temperature-sensitive Pth have identified a number of translation factors ...

Transition to Chaos in the Kinetic Model of Cellulose Hydrolysis Under Enzyme Biosynthesis Control [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In the paper the kinetic model of the biochemical process of cellulose hydrolysis with cell application is presented. The model includes enzyme biosynthesis control and is open conditions it represents the dynamical system in the preturbulent regime. The limit cycle and its five consequence bifurcations of the doubling-period type are found.

Protein Inference and Protein Quantification: Two Sides of the Same Coin [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Motivation: In mass spectrometry-based shotgun proteomics, protein quantification and protein identification are two major computational problems. To quantify the protein abundance, a list of proteins must be firstly inferred from the sample. Then the relative or absolute protein abundance is estimated with quantification methods, such as spectral ...

Cordycepin Prevents Hyperlipidemia in Hamsters Fed a High-Fat Diet via Activation of AMP-Activated Protein Kinase

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2010
Hyperlipidemia is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. In this study, we investigated the potential effects of cordycepin (3′-deoxyadenosine), a bioactive component of the fungus Cordyceps militaris, on hyperlipidemia.

Ligand binding specificity of RutR, a member of the TetR family of transcription regulators inEscherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2015
RutR is a member of the large family of TetR transcriptional regulators inEscherichiacoli. It was originally discovered as the regulator of therutABCDEFG operon encoding a novel pathway for pyrimidine utilization, but its highest affinity target is the ...

Rapid green biosynthesis of Silvermontmorillonite nanocomposite using water extract of Satureja hortensis L and evaluation of the antibacterial properties [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this work, facile, rapid and green biosynthesis and characterization of silvermontmorillonite nanocomposite is reported at room temperature. Silver nanoparticles were prepared by water extract of Satureja hortensis as the reducing agent and MMT as interlamellar space for controlling the size of Ag-NPs. MMT was suspended in the aqueous AgNO3 solution,
