A possible mechanism for cold denaturation of proteins at high pressure [PDF]
We study cold denaturation of proteins at high pressures. Using multicanonical Monte Carlo simulations of a model protein in a water bath, we investigate the effect of water density fluctuations on protein stability. We find that above the pressure where water freezes to the dense ice phase ($\approx2$ kbar), the mechanism for cold denaturation with ...

Salt‐Compact Albumin as a New Pure Protein‐based Biomaterials: From Design to In Vivo Studies
A new class of materials built entirely of native albumin protein is designed using a simple protocol based on salt‐assisted compaction, breaking with current crosslinking strategies. This green process leads, surprisingly, to water‐insoluble handable materials with high preservation of their native protein structures and Young's modulus close to that ...

Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are encapsulated into protective shells composed of metal‐phenolic networks (MPNs) and secondary poly(ethylene glycol) layers. This surface modification approach enhances the storage stability of sEVs while maintaining their integrity and functionality. The shells can be selectively disassembled under mild conditions.

CLDN18.2 CAR‐T cell‐derived small extracellular vesicles (CAR‐sEVs) display potent cytotoxicity and prolong survival in preclinical pancreatic cancer models. They contain functional CAR proteins and granzyme B, exhibit antigen specificity, and effectively target tumor cells while sparing healthy cells.

Choline chloride as a nano-crowder protects HP-36 from urea-induced denaturation: Insights from Solvent Dynamics and Protein-Solvent interaction [PDF]
Urea at sufficiently high concentration unfolds the secondary structure of proteins leading to denaturation. In contrast, Choline Chloride (ChCl) and urea, in 1:2 molar ratio form a deep eutectic mixture, a liquid at room temperature and protect proteins from denaturation.

A Bio‐Inspired Perspective on Materials Sustainability
This perspective discusses natural materials as inspiration for sustainable engineering designs and the processing of materials. First, circularity, longevity, parsimony, and activity are presented as essential material paradigms. The perspective then uses many examples of natural and technical materials to introduce principles such as oligo ...
