p34cdc2 phosphorylation sites in histone H1 are dephosphorylated by protein phosphatase 2A1
The protein phosphatase activity in rat liver cytosol or nuclear extracts that dephosphorylates histone H1 which has been phosphorylated by p34cdc2 is inhibited completely by okadaic acid, but unaffected by inhibitor-2 or magnesium ions, demonstrating ...

Bacteria‐Trained, MnO2‐Armored Dendritic Cells for Immunotherapy
MnO2‐armored, bacteria‐trained dendritic cells undergo tumor‐responsive mechanical and immunological transformation. The nanocoating masks immune ligands and maintains a mechanically stiff, quiescent state during circulation, while the tumor microenvironment removes the armor and restores cellular deformability and immune accessibility.

Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) emerge as a critical repair‐limiting factor in osteomyelitis, driving osteoblast mitochondrial dysfunction and excessive PINK1/Parkin‐mediated mitophagy. Gallium–selenium nanoparticles (GaSex) scavenge reactive oxygen species, redirect neutrophils from NETosis toward bactericidal phagocytosis, eliminate methicillin‐

Protein phosphatase 2A and phosphoprotein SET regulate androgen production by P450c17
Cytochrome P450c17 catalyzes 17 alpha-hydroxylation needed for cortisol synthesis and 17,20 lyase activity needed to produce sex steroids. Serine phosphorylation of P450c17 specifically increases 17,20 lyase activity, but the physiological factors ...

Inhibition of Src by direct interaction with protein phosphatase 2A
In this study, we report that Src kinase is inhibited by protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), a serine/threonine phosphatase. We carried out experiments in vitro using purified PP2A (AC dimer) and full‐length v‐Src or truncated forms of v‐Src. The inhibition of v‐Src by PP2A is concentration‐ and time‐dependent.

In this study, we show that retinal matrix stiffness is increased in diabetic mice. Using engineered human vascular models with controlled matrix stiffness, we demonstrate that stiffening activates focal adhesion kinase (FAK) signaling in pericytes, suppresses Notch signaling, and disrupts vascular morphology.

A Critical Review on the Evolution of Chitosan‐Based Injectable Hydrogels in Bone Regeneration
The graphical illustration depicts hydrogel formulation using chitosan and biocompatible cross‐linkers, major advantages, and incorporation of cells, osteoinductive factors, and therapeutic drugs. Following injection, pH‐responsive gelation enables controlled drug release, promotes cell recruitment and osteogenic differentiation, enhances extracellular

The role of AMPK and CREB-1 in the regulation of mitochondrial biogenesis during muscle differentiation [PDF]
The aim of the study was to identify main regulators of mitochondrial biogenesis in a skeletal muscle differentiation model. To investigate candidate factors we used the cytochrome c promoter as a representative promoter since cytochrome c levels ...

This study identified Danofloxacin as a novel supporter of the maintenance of mouse embryonic stem cell (ESC) pluripotency. It functions partially by inhibiting HDAC1, which increases specific histone acetylation marks and activates key genes like Tert and Prdm10.

Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...
