Soil-Derived Endospore-Forming Bacillus Bacteria Producing Protease

open access: yesJRST: Jurnal Riset Sains dan Teknologi
Proteases are widely utilized in many industries, including waste treatment, textiles, detergents, food processing, and medicines. This encourages researchers to discover novel sources of these enzymes.

Mise en évidence d'une production de protéases exocellulaires par les levures au cours de la fermentation alcoolique du moût de raisin

open access: yesOENO One, 1980
La durée d'activité très limitée dans le temps des protéases du raisin est confirmée en vinification en blanc, mais une nouvelle activité protéolytique peut être caractérisée à 37 °C et à pH 3,7 dans le moût au cours de la fermentation alcoolique.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Proteolytic activity of VpSP37.

open access: yes, 2015
The protease activity using different substrates was measured at concentration of 0.025 mM for each substrates. The change of fluorescence for min was converted to micromoles liberating 7-amino-4-methilcocumarin (AMC) per minute via a standard curve with

The rodents (mice) burrowing activity in the restoring of soil proteolytic activity under conditions of the technogenic pollution

open access: yesVìsnik Dnìpropetrovsʹkogo Unìversitetu: Serìâ Bìologìâ, Ekologìâ, 2005
The research for rodents (mice) burrowing activity finding on the soil proteolytic one was made in the natural environment. It was shown that under conditions of heavy metals pollutions the proteolytic activity level within burrows was higher than the ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Erythropoietic Activity of Proteolytic Enzymes

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1960
SummaryCrystalline papain and crude bromelin preparations stimulate erythropoiesis, whereas other proteolytic enzymes are ineffective. Sialic acid, measured by direct Ehrlich reaction, has been detected in crystalline papain preparations.
