Anaphylaxis to proton pump inhibitors
Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are widely used for the treatment of peptic ulcer, but cases of anaphylactic reactions have rarely been described. We present a patient who experienced an episode of urticaria 30 minutes after oral intake of an omeprazole capsule. Skin prick tests to omeprazole, pantoprazole and lansoprazole were positive.

Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate (EGCG) acutely inhibited gluconeogenesis and enhanced glycolysis, glycogenolysis, and fatty acid oxidation in perfused rat livers. Mechanistic assays revealed mitochondrial uncoupling, inhibition of pyruvate carboxylation and glucose‐6‐phosphatase, shift of NADH/NAD+ ratios toward oxidation, and loss of membrane integrity ...

Objective The objective was to identify factors determining acute arthritis resolution and safety with colchicine and prednisone in acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis. Methods We conducted a post hoc analysis of the COLCHICORT trial, which compared colchicine and prednisone for the treatment of acute CPP crystal arthritis, using a ...

Adapting clinical guidelines to take account of multimorbidity [PDF]
Most people with a chronic condition have multimorbidity, but clinical guidelines almost entirely focus on single conditions. It will never be possible to have good evidence for every possible combination of conditions, but guidelines could be made more ...

This study reveals that higher shell S coordination can effectively modulate the spin state of FeN4 site via long‐range electronic interactions, giving rise to the oriented generation of singlet oxygen from peroxymonosulfate activation. Abstract Precise manipulation of coordination structure of single‐atom sites and establishment of schematic ...

Adalimumab‐Poloxamer Conjugate for Bio‐Better: Enhanced Stability and Function
Antibody‐polymer conjugates, particularly poloxamer conjugates, enhance antibody stability by improving tolerance to physicochemical stress and attenuating proteolysis by proteases. Furthermore, the higher affinity observed with poloxamer conjugation compared to standard PEGylation results in improved therapeutic efficacy in rheumatoid arthritis mouse ...
