Macropinocytic Uptake and pH‐Responsive Endolysosomal Processing Drive Sustained Chemotherapeutic Efficacy of High‐Load Core@Shell Nanocarriers in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study develops core@shell nanocarriers with an exceptionally high chemotherapy drug payload, exhibiting strong cytotoxic effects. Using this adaptable nanocarrier‐synthesis platform, herein, the cellular uptake pathway and intracellular journey of the nanocarriers are elucidated with different probe‐based imaging strategies.

Development of an Active Crosslinked Nanocomposite Film Based on Gelatin‐Ethyl Cellulose, Trans‐Cinnamaldehyde, and Silver Nanoparticles for the Preservation of Sliced Meat

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to develop a novel bioactive biobased packaging film combining gelatin (G) and ethyl cellulose (EC), cardanol and glycerol as plasticizers, trans‐cinnamaldehyde (TCA) as a crosslinker/bioactive compound, and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) as bioactive agents.

Trichoderma genome and multiomics insight into promoting yield and reducing grain cadmium in barley and wheat

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 1, Page 39-56, January 2026.
The fungal strain Trichoderma nigricans T32781 improved yield and reduced the grain cadmium concentrations of wheat and barley in cadmium‐polluted soils through microbial and metabolic interactions, offering a potential strategy for enhancing crop productivity and food safety in cadmium‐contaminated fields.

Local Adaptation and Osmoregulatory Mechanisms of the Copepod Acartia tonsa Under Low Salinity Stress

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Salinity—an essential factor shaping marine species distributions—is rapidly shifting due to global change, yet the mechanisms of salinity tolerance and adaptation remain poorly understood. We investigated local adaptation in the calanoid copepod Acartia tonsa, a broadly distributed marine species that thrives in the brackish Baltic Sea. Using
