A Human Kidney Tubuloid Model of Repeated Cisplatin‐Induced Cellular Senescence and Fibrosis for Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Replicating aging and senescence‐related pathophysiological responses in kidney organoids remains a significant challenge. Human adult renal tubular organoid, tubuloids, are successfully developed recapitulating cellular senescence that is the central pathophysiological mechanism of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Altered glycolipid metabolism during acute kidney injury exacerbates renal inflammation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Acute kidney injury (AKI) can progress to chronic kidney disease (CKD), via a mechanism that is still largely unknown. We previously reported that glucosylceramide (GlcCer) acts as a damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) during AKI.

Spatio-temporal expression of membrane transporters, Megalin and Cubilin, in renal development of C57BL/6 mice

open access: yes陆军军医大学学报
Objective To observe the distribution of membrane transporters, Megalin and Cubilin, in the renal development of mice, and to reveal the temporal and spatial rules of their functional differentiation during renal development.

Notch activates Wnt-4 signalling to control medio-lateral patterning of the pronephros [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Previous studies have highlighted a role for the Notch signalling pathway during pronephrogenesis in the amphibian Xenopus laevis, and in nephron development in the mammalian metanephros, yet a mechanism for this function remains elusive.

User-friendly microfluidic system reveals native-like morphological and transcriptomic phenotypes induced by shear stress in proximal tubule epithelium

open access: yesAPL Bioengineering, 2023
Drug-induced nephrotoxicity is a leading cause of drug attrition, partly due to the limited relevance of pre-clinical models of the proximal tubule. Culturing proximal tubule epithelial cells (PTECs) under fluid flow to mimic physiological shear stress ...

Development of a Synthetic 3D Platform for Compartmentalized Kidney In Vitro Disease Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A fully synthetic, compartmentalized 3D kidney disease model is introduced. The kidney model combines a PEG‐based hydrogel matrix with anisotropic, enzymatically degradable rod‐shaped microgels to spatially arrange a triple co‐culture of key renal epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblast cells.

Morfometría de cortes histológicos de los túbulos renales normales en una muestra de humanos adultos

open access: yesRevista Electrónica Dr. Zoilo E. Marinello Vidaurreta, 2017
Fundamento: los túbulos renales normales se han descrito por morfometría, lo que permite “reconstruir” en tercera dimensión la forma y el tamaño del espécimen estudiado.Objetivo: caracterizar la magnitud de los túbulos renales normales en humanos adultos,
