Vertical transmission of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus: hitch-hiking from gametes to seedling

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2009
The aim of this work was to follow Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) infection in apricot reproductive tissues and transmission of the virus to the next generation. For this, an analysis of viral distribution in apricot reproductive organs was carried out at different developmental stages.

The potential for pollen-borne virus transfer in a plum orchard infected with Prunus necrotic ringspot virus

open access: yes, 1997
Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) is borne in stonefruit pollen. Previous work has shown that virus particles can enter cucumber seedlings when virus-bearing pollen grains contact puncture holes made in plant cells by thrips feeding.

Preparation of recombinant coat protein of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus.

open access: yesActa virologica, 2001
The coat protein (CP) gene of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) was cloned into pET 16b vector and expressed in Escherichia coli. CP-enriched fractions were prepared from whole cell lysate by differential centrifugation. The fraction sedimenting at 20,000 x g for 30 mins was used for preparation of a rabbit antiserum to CP.

Assessing the applicability of transcript conformation polymorphism for differentiation among Prunus necrotic ringspot virus isolates

open access: yes, 2002
The applicability of single and double-stranded transcript conformation polymorphism (TCP) for differentiation among Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) isolates was evaluated and compared with other molecular differentiation procedures.

Generic Amplicon Deep Sequencing to Determine Ilarvirus Species Diversity in Australian Prunus

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
The distribution of Ilarvirus species populations amongst 61 Australian Prunus trees was determined by next generation sequencing (NGS) of amplicons generated using a genus-based generic RT-PCR targeting a conserved region of the Ilarvirus RNA2 component

Viral and Viroid Communities in Peach Cultivars Grown in Bulgaria

open access: yesHorticulturae
Peaches (Prunus persica L. Batsch) and nectarines (Prunus persica L. Batsch var. nectarina [Ait.] Maxim) are economically important stone fruits consumed worldwide, both fresh and processed. Viruses and viroids significantly constrain the cultivation and

DETECTION OF Prunus necrotic ringspot virus FROM PEACH (Prunus persica (L.) IN MEXICO AND MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION OF ITS COMPONENT RNA-3

open access: yes, 2014
During field observations from 2008 to 2012 in commercial peach orchards in the Estado de Mexico, states of Morelos and Puebla, leaf damage was observed in the form of yellow mottle, chlorotic rings, linear patterns and mosaic.
