The inhibitive effect of tannin in Psidium guajava leaves towards 304SS corrosion in concentrated HCl

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Tannin isolated from Psidium guajava leaves are developed to enhance the corrosion protection of austenitic stainless steel. It is used as a green inhibitor, extracted from Psidium guajava which grow in East java, Indonesia.

Natural Co‐Infection With Streptococcus agalactiae and Klebsiella pneumoniae in Cultured Nile Tilapia: Assessing Plant‐Based Therapeutics as Sustainable Alternatives to Antibiotics

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), a key species in global freshwater aquaculture and a major contributor to Bangladesh's fish production, is increasingly affected by bacterial infections that compromise farm productivity. This study investigated natural co‐infection of bacterial pathogens in diseased tilapia and assessed the effectiveness ...

Polymeric Proanthocyanidins from Psidium guajava [PDF]

open access: yesScientia Pharmaceutica, 2005
From the aqueous acetone extract of the leaves of Psidium guajava L. the flavanols catechin and gallocatechin, the procyanidins B1, B2, B3 and two prodelphinidins (gallocatechin - (4α→8) - catechin; gallocatechin - (4α→8) - gallo-catechin) were isolated.

Valorization of the peel and husk of guaraná (Paullinia cupana): oil extraction, chemical composition, cytotoxicity, and antitumor potential

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 879-892, March/April 2026.
Abstract Guaraná (Paullinia cupana) is a fruit native to the Amazon region. Due to its widespread use, primarily in beverages, its production has grown over the years. The seed is the only commercially valuable part of the fruit so the guaraná production chain generates byproducts, including peel, husk, and spent seed.

Trade‐Offs in the Moonlight: Influence of Interspecific Pressures, Temperature, and Moon Phases on the Activity Patterns of Asiatic Brush‐Tailed Porcupine

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Using camera trap data from a tropical rainforest, we show that the Asiatic brush‐tailed porcupine uses behavioral trade‐offs: avoiding full moons, preferring 15°C–22°C, and shifting activity to reduce conflict with predators/competitors. This plasticity reveals how it balances foraging efficiency and survival risks, offering insights into conserving ...

Green Synthesis of Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Using Plant Extracts: Applications in Catalysis and Biomedicine

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The green synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles (MONPs) using plant‐based resources has gained significant traction as an environmentally benign, cost‐effective, and scalable alternative to traditional chemical and physical methods. This review comprehensively explores the plant‐mediated synthesis routes for a variety of MONPs, including CuO,
